Service: A Gateway to Generating Good Karma
Are you a "megawatt" or a "gigawatt" transformer of energy? According to my teacher, Master Choa Kok Sui, the amount of energy we release to the world is a direct reflection of our service. Service is a powerful way to actively generate good karma, which can change your life for the better.
While we are all energy transformers, the amount of energy we transform depends on how we choose to live our lives. A person with a quiet, secluded lifestyle might not need to transform as much energy as someone who is serving thousands or millions of people. As you take on bigger projects, you will notice that massive energy will naturally flow through you.
Finding Your Rhythm of Service
Service doesn't have to be a one-time event or a grand gesture. I've found that consistency is the key to truly generating good karma. You might see people volunteer at a food kitchen once a year for a photo opportunity, or a large corporation might do a one-day service event for publicity. The most impactful service, however, is done consistently and silently, without the need for recognition.
I've made it a point to incorporate regular service into my routine. For me, that means volunteering at various places three to four times a week. It could be at a local community kitchen, helping at a food bank like Harvesters, or coaching a youth sports team. These are all opportunities to give back and, in turn, generate good karma.
I've met people who have been doing this for years—some for over two decades—and they all seem to have a youthful spirit, filled with joy and contentment. Their needs are consistently met, and their lives appear to be a testament to the power of a life lived in service.
The Secret to Changing Your Destiny
People often wonder how they can improve their lives, change their destiny, or bring more good into their world. The answer is simple: actively generate good karma. Good karma is the secret ingredient, the unseen force that helps to mitigate challenges and bring about positive change.
Think about the Lord's Prayer, which says, "Give us this day our daily bread." I believe this isn't just a request for physical sustenance. It's an encouragement to actively generate the good karma you need for the day. Just as you need to eat every day, you also need to generate good karma every day.
By being consistent with your service, you create a constant flow of positive energy. The good karma you generate becomes a major factor in your life, helping you to navigate challenges and attract blessings.
Transform Your Life Through Service
Are you ready to become a gigawatt transformer? The path to a better life is not a secret—it's an open invitation to serve.
-
Find Your Passion: Choose a cause or a community that you are passionate about. This will make service feel less like a chore and more like a calling.
-
Be Consistent: Start small, even if it's just two hours a week. The key is to be consistent.
-
Embrace Humility: The most powerful service is done without an audience. Focus on the act of giving, not the recognition you might receive.
By making service a core part of your lifestyle, you are not just helping others—you are helping yourself. You are actively building a foundation for a life filled with purpose, happiness, and fulfillment.
